Customer Spotlight - Fond Memories of a Vintage Burgundy 1965 Mustang Fastback

Figuring out which one to drive first may put some behind schedule. But for Jeff Irwin and his 1965 Mustang Fastback they won’t be arriving late  anytime soon.

A long-time customer of Inskeep Ford, Jeff recently invited us to visit his Ford themed garage for a chat. Growing up, Jeff gained his love for all things Ford from his Grandfather who worked at a local Ford Dealership in Wabash, Indiana.

One of his fondest memories. Jeff said he will never forget the first time his Grandfather drove up the driveway to take him for a weekend cruise in a Vintage Burgundy 1965 Mustang Fastback. He was in awe and every weekend "With Excitement" would look forward to his Grandfather's visits and to their weekend cruises.

"It was love at first sight. I was bitten by the Mustang bug at an early age. Since a little boy, I repaired and wrenched on the cars, attended car shows, and acquired a love for just about anything go fast.”

Never letting go of his dream to own the car he fell in love with, the opportunity presented itself at just the right time a few years ago.

With Nostalgia in his heart and after some negotiations, Jeff made the journey from Indiana to North Carolina to pick up his Crown Jewel and now the center piece in his collection. His 1965 Mustang Fastback. Identical to the one his Grandfather once owned.

Jeff also owns a 2012 Boss 302 Mustang, 2014 F-150 Tremor, 2014 Ford Raptor SVT, and a 2016 GT350. All are housed in his temperature-controlled garage where he spends time hanging out with friends, reminiscing, and working on the 65 Mustang Fastback.

While he has had a few offers to buy the 1965 Mustang Fastback, Jeff says he won’t part ways with it. There are too many fond memories of times past with his Grandfather to even consider selling it.

We could not agree more. For a car enthusiast it gives you an unfiltered connection to that first experience and memory of the car you love that you never forget.
